A flock of 153 sheep arrived at Caminhos Cruzados!

Bringing the herd to the vineyards is an ancestral practice and is part of our strategy for maintaining and enhancing a circular, healthy and bio-diverse ecosystem.
The sheep are a valuable help in controlling weeds and while they eat the grass they also fertilize the soil. Thus, we reduce the use of mechanical means, the respective fuel and avoid soil compaction.
In addition to all this, we also feed this flock of Bordaleira Serra da Estrela sheep, so typical of our region.
The sound of the bells and their lovely air make our vineyards even more beautiful!
