A monovarietal of the emblematic white grape variety from the demarcated Dão region, Encruzado, produced by ' Caminhos Cruzados ' received 95 points and the respective Gold medal in the International Wine Challenge competition.
This distinction given to the ' Titular Reserva Encruzado 2018 ' is another step towards the international affirmation of the wines of this producer based in the municipality of Nelas. The ' Titular ' range, the anchor brand of ' Caminhos Cruzados ', exports a large part of its production, and this type of recognition in specialty competitions is of great importance, not only for the visibility and credibility they give to the brand, but also for the prestige which brings to its different wine references.
The ' Titular Reserva Encruzado 2018 ', a single variety that has the values of the Dão vineyard in mind, presents great freshness and minerality, and is ready to be consumed right away, although it shows an excellent capacity for evolution in the bottle. Signed by winemakers Manuel Vieira, Carla Rodrigues and Carlos Magalhães, it underwent total fermentation in French oak barrels and aged for nine months with batonagge . With an alcohol content of 13.5%, it should be served at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees. It should also be noted that this ' Titular Reserva Encruzado 2018 ', which has a recommended RRP of €16.90 , pairs perfectly with fish, seafood, as well as the most diverse dishes of Mediterranean cuisine.
The International Wine Challenge is seen by the world of oenophilia as the fairest and most impartial competition of all those held across all four corners of the world. Recognized for the numerous blind tastings it carries out, which distances it from any possible pressure, it has specialized judges in all areas of the industry linked to the sector, giving each wine the opportunity to be judged with total independence.
